Stable spider for Newtonian telescopes - ideal for amateur telescope making and improvment of existing telescopes
♦ Suitable for OTA from 223 mm bis through 235 mm inner diameter
♦ black anodized
♦ Secondary adjustment by optional M4 knurled screws; 2x3 female threads are insertet.
♦ Diameter of the center collimation unit: 60 mm
♦ Spider vane width: 21 mm
♦ Spider vane thickness: 2 mm
♦ Center bore diameter: 6.5 mm - We recommend counter sunk M5 and M6 screws as they are self-centering.
♦ Secondary holder and collimation screws are optional (see accessories section on our Online Shop Telescope-Express).
TS-Optics adjustable secondary holder with spider vanes
A robust secondary support guarantees adjustment stability. Our TSSPI has been designed with optimal stiffness for secondaries larger than 70 mm in mind.
It is ideal for amateur telescope making but it can also used for upgrading standard Newtonians by Skywatcher, GSO, Celestron etc. The secondary should have a diameter of at least 70 mm (minor axis).
Advantages and characteristics:
♦ Mounts to the tube with M8 thread bolts and counter nuts
♦ Suitable for secondary supports > 30 mm at their lower base
♦ Central bore diameter is 6.5 mm. So secondary holders with M5, M6 and 1/4" rod can be used.
♦ The spider vanes are glued and additionally secured with setting screws (three per vane).
